Abide literally means to dwell, remain, stay, continue. Abide as used by the Lord means to live out of, to draw life from, to live because of, through, by. This means we need to live like a favored son or daughter. Living out of the sense of sonship. Living out of our identity as His son or daughter. Making no apology for living as His son or daughter! Walking every day knowing that we are loved by the Father in an immeasurable and unconditional way.
On this Q&A episode on Marriage and Parenting we've invited 2 counsellors from Chrysalis Counseling who've attempted to answer questions on biblical perspective on raising teens and young adults as parents, the impact of social media and raising them up to christian faith. What's more? A one-on-one with 4 couples about a day in their life.
Whether we like it or not we are in the middle of an intense spiritual conflict! But God has made available to us spiritual weapons that are infinitely superior to the crafty schemes of the enemy. In this final and very important sermon from Ephesians 6, we learn how wear and use each piece of our spiritual armor. Victory in our daily Christian life depends on us walking with our full armor on.
As we continue our study in Ephesians, we learn that the life we live in Christ should come to bear on all our earthly relationships: between spouses, between parents and children, between employers and employees. This powerful sermon leads into a powerful time of repentance, forgiveness and healing.
The apostle Paul having communicated about our life in Christ, now exhorts us to live according to the "new man" we have become in Christ. He describes how living this new creation life affects our speech, conduct and attitudes.
All that we experience in our life in Christ, beginning with salvation is by grace through faith. Paul shares with us what the Lord Jesus has done for us - both Jews and Gentiles. He has made us one - in Jesus there is neither Greek nor Jew (Galatians 3:28). The middle wall of separation, the law of commandments contained in ordinances has been abolished. We, both Jews and Gentiles are now one new man following the Lord Jesus and His Word for us. This has been made possible through the what Jesus accomplished on the Cross.
God tests us not because He does not know what we think or what we will do. He tests us in order to provide us an opportunity to demonstrate in life what we really believe and hold on to. His tests are meant to get us to the next level in our walk with Him. God tests us - but He empowers us by His Word and His Spirit to pass these tests. Every test we pass brings us into a new realm in God.
God has revealed to us in His Word, truth about creation, redemption, life, death, eternity and things to come. Approximately 2,500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2,000 of which already have been fulfilled. The Bible contains 10,385 verses predicting the return of the Lord. We will consider a few Bible prophecies to show their accuracy and strength.
This year you will receive an outpouring of blessings that you cannot contain (Malachi 3:10). While the Scriptures apply to us all of the time, in God's dealings with us as individuals and as a community, there are specific seasons He brings us into. The Psalmist said, my times are in His hands (Psalm 31:15). The times and seasons of life are in His hands. And as He brings us into specific seasons, we need to be aware of what He intends to do and we must respond correctly.
We were designed by God to manifest His glory. When God is personally present in our lives, we are able to live fully. When we abide in the Holy Spirit, we shine, we glow, we reflect God’s glory to the world. On the other hand, Sin and Rebellion Causes His Glory To Lift.
