Sermons church in Bangalore
We must always in all circumstances recognize that the enemy has been defeated and always operate from our position of victory and authority in Christ. In every situation, when we are at our strongest and when we feel our weakest, our declaration is the same "satan! you have been defeated!"
May this sermon minister to you and enrich your walk of faith in Jesus Christ. We welcome you to make use of the free sermons, Christian books, and daily devotionals available on this website.

The Bible reveals to us that satan and his demonic spirits are fallen angels. Lucifer was an arch angel who was cast out of heaven along with a third of the angels (Ezekiel 28:12-19, Revelation 12:4).

We live in a world where satan and his demons are at work.
The whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one (1 John 5:19).
Satan and his demons steal, kill and destroy what God has given to us (John 10:10).
There are spirits of disobedience causing people to walk in rebellion against God (Ephesians 2:2).
There are deceiving spirits and demonic doctrines energized by demonic spirits that capture the minds of people (1 Timothy 4:1).
...and lots of other things....

Sometimes the battles we face can be long and hard. Sometimes we can get weary of the battle and feel overwhelmed.

As believers we need to be reminded of the truth concerning the enemy, his works and our authority. This is what we seek to do in this two part series.

We must always in all circumstances recognize that the enemy has been defeated and always operate from our position of victory and authority in Christ. In every situation, when we are at our strongest and when we feel our weakest, our declaration is the same "satan! you have been defeated!"

Satan's Defeat

Satan's defeat was foretold in the Garden of Eden and executed at Calvary's Cross.

Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."

Colossians 2:14,15
14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Hebrews 2:14,15
14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

The Lord Jesus did not have to do this for Himself. He did this as a representative of the human race and on our behalf.

We share in the victory, in the spoil of battle, of Christ's triumph. Jesus shared His spoil with us.

Isaiah 53:12
12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

Let this truth settle in your heart that satan has been defeated and God wants to see us His children walk in that victory.

Romans 16:20
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

The authority of the believer and the Church

As believers we have spiritual authority over satan and his devils.

The Lord Jesus commissioned and authorized His disciples:

Matthew 10:1,7,8
1 And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
7 And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Luke 10:19
19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

and then He promised the same authority for all believers:

Mark 16:17-18
17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

As believers we are seated in Christ in heavenly realms, at the Father's right hand:

Ephesians 2:4-6
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

As believers we are part of the Church, that has been given the authority (keys) of the Kingdom of heaven, to execute (bind and lose) on earth what God desires.

Matthew 16:18,19
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

Take your place! (how to exercise authority)

Ephesians 6:10-18

We've been given our spiritual armor and weapons by which we can quench all fiery darts of the wicked one, and stand against all the wiles of the devil.

We exercise our authority in Jesus' name.
We exercise our authority with boldness and faith.
We exercise our authority by using the sword of the Word of God - the spoken Word.

We must always in all circumstances recognize that the enemy has been defeated and always operate from our position of victory and authority in Christ. In every situation, when we are at our strongest and when we feel our weakest, our declaration is the same "satan! you have been defeated!"
